Senior Training Grounds 

The below outlines the training and coaching policy that Kingsway Athletics (KA) members, non-members and coaches must adhere to. 

Please note this is access to the Kingsway Athletics facilities, and some limited training and coaching included in your membership fees. If you want specialist or advanced coaching you will need to find a coach, you can refer to our Kingsway Athletics approved coaches below.

 

EQUIPMENT

Equipment is NOT to be taken from the shed and used in non club booking times.

Only Kingsway Athletics members are permitted access to the training equipment in the shipping container located behind the office near the gate (unless there has been a prior arrangements this includes hiring of the equipment. This equipment is provided for use by Kingsway Athletics and is expected that what is used is returned the way it was found and where it was found. Kingsway Athletics Centre (Spectator Dr, Madeley WA 6065

The facility is booked by the KA Committee. The use of the track is at the KA committee discretion, this includes who uses the track during centre booking times. Allowance will be made on an adhoc basis by the KA committee.

GROUNDS USE AND COACHING POLICY

  • Our KA facilities are not a public facility and KA membership fees assist in covering the extensive cost of booking the facility all year round for our members.
  • Members using field sites, such as the throws cage are responsible for blocking off a safe zone using cones. Uses are also responsible for filling the holes made from implements with sand.
  • Circular track lanes 1 & 2 NOT TO BE USED! permanently closed at training times.
  • Shot Put 1, NOT TO BE USED! permanently closed at training times.
  • Should a coach be a KA approved coach, the centre requires that majority (this can be up to 90%) of their athletes are KA senior members (athletes must be turning 11, in the current year, and over to use the grounds) however, the few athletes within the KA approved coaching groups that are members from other clubs who wish to train at the KA facilities under a Ka approved coach can join as a

  • The use of the grounds is for senior KA members* (athletes must be turning 11, in the current year, - this aligns to the age that athletes are permitted to join the senior club as per the Atheltics West Rule book and their coaches (approved and non KA coaches):
    • KA Athletes* who do not use a KA approved coach can still use the facilities and the equipment during booking times.
    • The club understands (and is supportive of all its athletes) that not all KA athletes are coached by KA approved coaches and may have training partners that are not KA Members. KA is here to promote the sport and as such the KA committee has some discretion and allowances in relation to the use of the grounds during the centre bookings. This includes:
      • Should a KA athlete have one (1) maximum training partner (guest*) that is a non KA member, the centre, as stated will have some discretion and allowances to this and the use of the facilities during centre booking times. *Guests (up to one non KA member per KA member)will be permitted.
      • A KA member guest can use our facilities as a guest on one occasion. After this they must pay the grounds fees, these can be purchased via this Link

  • They must also be training in a KA  majority squad.
  • Other sports, squads, athletes or any coaches & (groups) with no KA members must have an official bookings through the City of Wanneroo to use the facilities. The use of our facilities during the centres booking times by these 'groups' is not permitted and they will be asked to respect the centres bookings and use the alternative ovals or grounds that are available within the Kingsway sporting complex.
  • Athletes that use our facilities outside of centre booking times are NOT covered by insurance.
  • Kingsway Athletics Little Athletics members Tiny tots to Under 12 are not permitted to train during senior club booking times

 

Our committee are all volunteers and are passionate about the centre and it is important they are treated with courtesy and respect, bullying will not be tolerated. 

To ensure this is fully observed, we operate a Zero Tolerance policy. This means that aggressive or poor behaviour towards our volunteers will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Anyone giving verbal abuse, demonstrating poor behaviour, or does not demonstrate the KA Values, to our volunteers, by any means, will be sent a letter advising that this behaviour will not be tolerated.
