My name is Ashlyn, I am 18 years of age and have been involved with athletics since I started in under 9’s. During this time I have competed as an Athlete, been involved as an Official at Athletics West Strive and State level competitions and also coaching junior athletes.

A few years into my athletics journey I really started to enjoy race-walking and wanted to push myself further in this event. I have accomplished many goals and achievements since pursuing race-walking. I became WA State Champion for multiple years, competed at All Schools National and Athletics Australia Nationals and have Kingsway centre records.  

During my time as an athlete in under 16’s I also started to coach at my Little Athletics club Woodvale, mainly for race-walking but also helped in other areas. Without a doubt I absolutely love coaching, seeing the athletes' faces light up from their improvement when achieving a PB or even just having fun enjoying the sport really gave myself the drive to go further with coaching. Eventually I’ve started to venture out a little bit and have taken on some one on one coaching. 

From my short time as a Coach I have improved athletes in their own performances by achieving personal best times, winning state medals and also setting new state records, but my best results as a coach is having the Junior athletes working hard, enjoying the sport and laying the early groundwork for possible future success.

Currently studying a Diploma in Sports and Leadership Management.
