An athlete myself and parent of an Australian team athlete, I have coached athletics for around 20 years in various settings. 

This includes coaching WA state and international team athletes and regular Athletics West State Development Squad athletes. I have also coached on a regular basis at numerous athletics clubs and centres as either specialist workshop-based sessions or throughout entire seasons, including, Bayswater, Kingsway, Eastern Hills, Swan Valley, Kalamunda,Lesmurdie, Ballajura and North Bassendean.

I also enjoy coaching at local schools during their school athletics season in preparation for their annual carnivals, including Guildford Grammar School and Chisholm Catholic College.

I have also coached many individual athletes on a sessional basis to contribute to and develop their athletic aspirations. I am comfortable coaching most track and field events, however Jumps is my strongest area of expertise.

I have been fortunate to spend time with and learn from past Australian Olympians and World Championship representatives as well as attended numerous professional development opportunities including High Performance Training Camps, Education and Training Clinics and Advanced Coaching Seminars through Australia Athletics (AA), Little Athletics Australia (LAA) and Paddle Australia (PA). 

have also been involved in officiating for the past 20 or so years as an Athletics West and Little Athletics WA Official (World Athletics National Athletics Referee-NAR) officiating at international,national and numerous state events.

Whilst my coaching role is dominated by athletics, my recent personal competitive aspirations have moved from athletics to Wildwater kayaking and endurance events like the Avon Descent, winning my class on 6 occasions and the current Wildwater record holder.

My son continues to be an Australian Kayak Team member the past 2 years as part of the Australian Wildwater Team, competing in World Cups and Championships in Europe. When I'm not kayaking, officiating or coaching I work as a lecturer in Community Services and Youth Work with qualifications in Psychology and Post Graduate studies in Teaching and Counselling which compliments my approach to coaching well.    

ACCREDITATIONS: Level 2 ATFCA covering all events (Aligned to ATFCA Level 3 Event Group Specific Coach)

TRAINING DAYS: As discussed with coach.

EVENTS COACHED: High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump or other events on request.
